The One She Settled For
Sometimes, love feels like a cruel trick.
You think if you just wait long enough, prove yourself long enough, she’ll see you differently. But deep down, you know the truth—if she didn’t see your worth the first time, she may never see it fully.
Because love can’t be forced.
If she chooses you only after her first choice failed, you’ll never be her forever you’ll just be her fallback. And being a fallback is worse than being forgotten.
I’ve learned that rejection is not the end; it’s protection. It clears the path for the one who will never hesitate about me, the one who doesn’t compare me to someone else, the one who doesn’t settle.
So instead of chasing acceptance from someone who couldn’t see my value, I’m choosing myself. I’m choosing to love with intention, to give without begging, and to walk away when love feels like a consolation prize.
Because I deserve to be the first choice.
Not the last resort.
